precautions when using essential oils

Essential oils are extremely potent and it is advisable to be aware of general safety precautions when using oils and their suitability to the application in which you are planning to undertake with them.

Here are some precautions:

♥ For those with sensitive skin, please take care when using essential oils on the skin as sin irritations may occur. It is advisable to reduce the recommended amounts by half or complete a 24 hour skin test before application where possible. If any irritation does occur, immediately wash off with water and seek medical attention.

♥ During pregnancy it is recommended that you should not use the following oils: basil,Cedarwood, clary sage, geranium, jasmine, juniper, peppermint, rose, rosemary, thyme and chamomile in the early months. Many other oils are safe to use in low dosages. Always check with a qualified practitioner or contact Amanda Therapy for further clarification, before use.

♥ For babies, children and the elderly, always reduce the recommended essential oil amounts by half.

♥ If you have epilepsy, be aware that several essential oils may trigger an epileptic seizure.

♥ If you suffer from high or low blood pressure, some essential oils should be avoided.

♥ Several oils, mainly citrus oils can cause a photosensitive skin reaction (darkening of pigmentation) if applied to the skin prior to exposure to sunlight.

 I recommend that if you are in doubt, it is always best to check with a qualified Aromatherapist before use. Always read the label before use.

None of the products supplied by Amanda Therapy have been tested on animals.

Some products do contain beeswax and lanolin, in both cases, no animals have been harmed during the process.

amber bottles

Amanda Therapy products are bottled in amber glass/plastic as this is to ensure that my products are protected properly from UV light. Essential oils are best kept in a cool, dry area away from sunlight and heat. Always ensure the cap back onto the bottle after use and keep away from children.

deliveries to your nominated address.

Amanda Therapy will process your online order within 24-48 hours. You should receive your order in approximately 5-7 working days dependant upon the postal system in your area. Prices for Postage and Handling are set by us to enable delivery using the Australia Post package delivery systems, our preferred supplier. The charges are added at the time of the selection and appear on your invoice prior to you authorizing payment.

Delivery is only within Australia; please contact me if you would like this to be sent internationally so a quote for delivery can be given. For your protection all parcels within Australia will be sent vie the Australia Post system that allows for package delivery recording and a system of notification of the pending delivery if you are not at the address at the time the courier calls. Please ensure that when you select your delivery address that it is one where you can be found during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.


making your purchase

Please take the time to select your products carefully. Any goods returned to me later than 7 days after the delivery will not be subject to a refund or replacement due to the potential risk to others once goods are used in an unsupervised environment. In all cases, to qualify for a refund, goods must be returned in an unopened, saleable condition.


stock availability and end dates

If an item is temporarily out of stock, or the time for a notified Special Promotion has passed, you will be contacted via email and informed of the change and refunded, or given the opportunity to select another suitable product.
